The Mobile Treatment Team provides Services in the Community that Help a Person Live Independently Riverwood’s Mobile Treatment Team was the first established (1986) in the state of Rhode Island and serves 80 adults with severe and persistent mental illness who may also have co-occurring substance abuse issues. The Department of MHRH certified and CARF accredited program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Southeastern Rhode Island from East Providence to Newport.
The program provides intensive integrated treatment, rehabilitation and support in the community to help meet the person’s complex needs. The individual is provided with services that support successful independent living in the community. For example, staff may help a person solve a problem, pay bills, access resources, prepare for a job interview or find an apartment. The person may receive job counseling, substance abuse counseling and/or coordination of medical care. Assistance may include visits twice a day to make sure medication is taken on the proper schedule.
Staffing includes a Board Certified Team Psychiatrist, Registered nurses, substance abuse specialists, employment specialists, case managers, a consulting Clinical Pharmacist and a Consulting Licensed Dietitian.
Meaningful relationships are key to recovery. Friendship, peer support, familial bonds, companionship, as well as professional therapeutic relationships are encouraged through a client-centered treatment planning process. To facilitate this, a social club provides additional opportunities for social interactions in the community.
The Mobile Treatment Team office is located in downtown Warren, RI close to a bus line.
